AFL Star Launches Holistic Wellness Hub on the Sunshine Coast

A Sanctuary for Mind and Body

Two-time AFL premiership winner Corey McKernan is bringing a fresh approach to wellness to the Sunshine Coast. Partnering with seasoned fitness and wellness expert Shane Nettleton, McKernan is launching The Reset Sanctuary, a cutting-edge health center designed to revitalize both mind and body.

Located at 90 Aerodrome Road in Maroochydore, the facility boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including ice baths, traditional and infrared saunas, and compression boots. A dedicated relaxation space will offer members the perfect spot to unwind with a coffee or smoothie, meditate, and recharge between sessions.

"We are creating a space which will enable individuals to live better, feel better and thrive at all stages of life," McKernan shared, highlighting the duo's commitment to holistic well-being.

Building a Community of Wellness

Beyond the impressive facilities, The Reset Sanctuary aims to foster a vibrant community. McKernan and Nettleton plan to host regular events and workshops featuring leading health, wellness, and nutrition experts. This emphasis on connection addresses the growing need for community in the post-pandemic world.

"As we move on from Covid we know that now, more than ever, people are seeking real connection so we want to encourage our members to connect with like-minded individuals who are all striving for the same goals," McKernan explained.

Holistic Recovery: A Point of Difference

Nettleton brings over 15 years of experience in the fitness and wellness industry to The Reset Sanctuary. He emphasizes the power of a holistic approach to recovery, stating, "I have no doubt that there is absolute value in combining physical and mental wellness."

Nourishing the Body with Health Junkee

Adding to the holistic experience, The Reset Sanctuary will house a new branch of Health Junkee, a popular shake and coffee bar currently operating in Bli Bli. Founder Natalie Jacobson expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, noting the perfect alignment of business values.

"When Corey spoke to me about the vision for The Reset Sanctuary, I quickly saw how aligned our business values were," Jacobson said. "We are the perfect match to support people of all ages on their health and wellness journey."

Health Junkee will offer a delicious and nutritious menu, including protein shakes, smoothies, snacks, barista-made coffee, and healthy "grab and go" options.

From Virtual Walks to a Physical Sanctuary

Since moving to the Sunshine Coast from Melbourne in 2019, McKernan has been actively involved in the community. Following the success of his virtual walking initiative, Walk With Me, The Reset Sanctuary represents a natural progression of his commitment to well-being.

"Commencing The Reset Sanctuary is the next logical step forward for me...where we can create a community where people can proactively look after themselves both physically and mentally," he stated.

Opening Soon

The Reset Sanctuary is slated to open its doors in early May. For more information, visit theresetsanctuary.com.au.
